Orchestra from scratch

This year, several Senior School music students took part in the Orchestra from Scratch, which forms part of the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival. This initiative is a wonderful opportunity for musicians of all ages and backgrounds, who are not formal members of a symphony orchestra, to get together and share their love of music.

This year’s occasion was significant. Not only was it the largest orchestra to date but the event also coincided with the anniversary of Mozart’s birthday (27 January 1756).

Well done to all those involved. It was an incredible experience being part of the ensemble, surrounded by musicians sharing their love of orchestral music.

Until next year, keep practising!
