Grade 5 tour to Lapalala

At the beginning of March, 55 excited girls boarded the bus, armed with sleeping bags, old clothes and bug spray. They were so excited for their adventure to Lapalala Wilderness School. Their days were filled with investigations, team-building activities, physical challenges and lots of fun.

The girls learnt new skills such as canoeing, how to spit impala poop and how to identify a termite mound. They could be heard laughing happily as they floated in the river, rolled in the mud and solved the problem of how to fit their teams through a spider’s web. The night game drive was a highlight and the girls were privileged to see rhino in the wild. They returned home happy, exhausted and dirty – all good signs of an enjoyable time had by all.
