About the St Mary’s Foundation For Girls campaign
The Foundation’s For Girls campaign began in 2010, when the Foundation was mandated to support the school in its academic development. The campaign focuses on raising funds in a sophisticated and formal manner, to build a reserve of capital and utilise the return on investment of such funds to support girls’ education, developing teachers and pupils in the Community Affairs programme.
The campaign seeks philanthropic-minded individuals from the various audiences within the school community who include Old Girls, past parents, and parents. The For Girls campaign further offers to companies that are legally obliged to participate in social economic development, and the development of skills for the benefit of the South African economy the opportunity to do so via donations to the campaign.
Donations received for the For Girls campaign between 2010 and 2015: the chart below reflects all donation income and excludes surplus funds invested and investment earnings.
The St Mary’s Foundation strives to realise the For Girls goals in three programmatic ways: girls in need, teacher development and communities in need.
